State legislators are considering SB 14-181, a bill that would ban red-light cameras and other traffic enforcement camera systems in the State of Colorado.

In an interview with the Denver Post, Senate President Morgan Carroll said the red-light cameras have high error rates, are expensive and reduce the budgets available for trained patrols on the ground."

Among those in opposed to the legislation are police agencies, who claim that the cameras are necessary to enhance public safety.
