A US Marine is being told that he must take down his flags from his apartment home in Fredricksburg, Virginia.
Manny E. Vega III hung an American flag and a United States Marine Corps flag from a wooden beam on his balcony. The apartment manager says he can’t fly those flags, and told him to take them down.
In a letter posted on Vega's door, the only things allowed on the balconies are plants, holiday decorations, or patio decorations. Nothing may be attached to the building. The nails the flags are attached to were on the building prior to him occupying the unit. Vega argues that him hanging his flags is similar to someone hanging a wind chime to their unit.
What do you think? Should Vega remove his flags? Or should the apartment management rethink their demand?
