According to KOA News, Colorado legislators are trying to do away plastic straws in Colorado. You will still be able to ask for a straw at a restaurant, but they would not otherwise be given to you. This seems a little silly, but let's entertain the idea. For all the bigger fish to fry issues across the state, you might think that straws would be a low priority; but nope, these straws are causing chaos in Colorado. The roads, expensive medications, education...oh these issues can go on the back burner until we solve this straw issue. I know I will be sleeping better at night, now that this straw epidemic is being addressed.
